I am a licensed psychotherapist with a private practice in Santa Cruz California. My approach is client-centered, relational, and individualized to each client’s needs, drawing from an attachment lens, neuroscience, and mindfulness based practices that build on each individual’s capacity for healing and wholeness. I have specialized training in trauma informed therapy, and EMDR, to help people heal and resolve current and past trauma. I have experience treating anxiety, depression, trauma related symptoms, and working with couples and families on relationship issues. I earned my Masters degree in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Integral Counseling Psychology at The California Institute of Integral Studies. I completed my clinical training in a community based counseling agency and in private practice under the supervision of licensed marriage and family therapists.
In addition to my work in private practice, I earned a Masters Degree in Counseling Education from San Jose State University and worked for many years as a school based counselor in Santa Cruz, and for an international school in Barcelona, Spain. My experience working with teens and parents has given me a deep appreciation and special regard for supporting parents, families, and young people. A genuine joy for me is seeing the beneficial ripple effect that occurs for children when couples and families strengthen their relationships during the course of therapy.
I currently work in private practice in Santa Cruz providing individual and couples counseling. In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, hiking in nature, practicing yoga and traveling. I am fluent in Spanish and provide therapy in Spanish or English.
